News Over in the United Kingdom, BBC 2 is undergoing a re-branding.  Ignoring all of the boring details, the rebranding has promised yet unknown shows developed by Charlie Brooker ( Black Mirror ), and an adaptation of Eleanor Catton’s novel, The Luminarie s , which will star Eva Green ( Penny Dreadful ), Eve Hewson ( The Knick ), and Marton Csokas ( Into the Badlands ). The Hollywood Reporter's former Co-President Janice Min has announced her involvement in Jeffrey Katzenberg’s NewTV , a streaming video start-up.  Min has stated that her involvement means that their will be news content on the mobile-first streaming service. AMC plans to milk The Walking Dead franchise for everything its got, as they are reportedly developing multiple spin-off shows and movies of the post-apocalyptic zombie series. News Disney is making a big bet on their upcoming streaming service by producing Marvel Cinematic Universe connected shows featuring Loki, Scarlet Witch, and additional under-served characters.  These shows will feature the original Actors who play the movie parts, and will be made by Marvel Studios with what are expected to be significant budgets. Speaking of Marvel, Allan Heinberg ( Wonder Woman ) is developing a female driven Marvel series for ABC. The upcoming Batgirl series will NOT be airing on The CW as DC has claimed the series for their own DC Universe streaming service. Avatar: the Last Airbender Creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are developing a live action adaptation of their beloved animated series at Netflix. Boom Studio's Andrew Cosby says he is in final talks to run an animated series based on the video game franchise Diablo at Netflix. News NBC is developing The Inn Crowd , a multi-camera sitcom from David Holden ( Young and Hungry ), about a same sex couple opening an Inn in a small town. HBO has picked up US distribution for The BBC's adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials . Phil Lord and Chris Miller, known commonly as Lord & Miller ( The Last Man on Earth ), are developing Business as Usual at NBC .  The series follows the lives of the employees of a company that is falling apart. ABC is bringing back another classic sitcom with Designing Women , which will return as a continuation of the original. NBC is working with NBA Superstar LeBron James and Actress Elizabeth Banks ( Pitch Perfect ) to develop Hoops , a new drama about a former WNBA player who becomes the first female head coach of a men's college basketball team. Existential horror Mastermind David Cronenberg ( The Fly ) is reportedly in the early stages of developing a TV series. Hulu has acquired US distribution rights to the Australian crime drama series Harrow . All American production team of Greg Berlanti ( Arrow ) and Nkechi Carroll ( Bones ) are developing a yet untitled series for ABC about a small town in which the entire criminal justice system is run by women of color. The Jim Henson Company is developing a live action adaptation of The Witchlands fantasy book series by Susan Dennard. News Epix has ordered Our Lady, LTD to series .  The story of the series focuses on a conman who bites off more than he can chew when he attempts to con a Pastor who isn't as easy a mark as he appears to be.  The series, which was created by Steve Conrad ( The Secret Life of Walter Mitty ) and is produced by Bruce Terris ( Patriot ), will feature Sir Ben Kingsley ( Operation Finale ) as the dangerous Pastor Byron Brown. Actress Regina King ( Watchmen ) is developing a series with ABC , currently titled Warriors , in which she will serve as a Producer and Director . Showtime is developing an adaptation of Scott Thomas' horror novel Kill Creek .  Misha Green ( Underground ) and Scott Derrickson ( Doctor Strange ) are attached as Producers.
