- Disney is making a big bet on their upcoming streaming service by producing Marvel Cinematic Universe connected shows featuring Loki, Scarlet Witch, and additional under-served characters. These shows will feature the original Actors who play the movie parts, and will be made by Marvel Studios with what are expected to be significant budgets.
- Speaking of Marvel, Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman) is developing a female driven Marvel series for ABC.
- The upcoming Batgirl series will NOT be airing on The CW as DC has claimed the series for their own DC Universe streaming service.
- Avatar: the Last Airbender Creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are developing a live action adaptation of their beloved animated series at Netflix.
- Boom Studio's Andrew Cosby says he is in final talks to run an animated series based on the video game franchise Diablo at Netflix.
- Netflix has acquired US rights to the BBC series Bodyguard, which features Rob Stark himself, Richard Madden (Game of Thrones).
- Netflix has another Narcos series, Yankee, in development. The series will be directed by Carlos Carrera (The Crime of Padre Amaro) in Mexico City.
- Netflix has ordered No Good Nick, a multi-camera sitcom featuring Sean Astin (Stranger Things) and Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) as a married couple who unwittingly welcome a teenage con artist into their family.
- Netflix has announced a new supernatural themed Brazilian series, Spectros, from Douglas Petrie (The Defenders)
- Actress Kristen Bell has officially confirmed the Hulu continuation of her beloved series Veronica Mars.
- Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) is the latest high profile performer to sign on to gen:LOCK, the new animated series from Rooster Teeth that already features Micheal B Jordan (Black Panther), David Tennant (Doctor Who), and Dakota Fanning (Man on Fire)
- Xosha Roquemore's (The Mindy Project) character Geena (DJ's Wife) has been recast with Maya Lynne Robinson (Gurl) in ABC's The Conners.
- Ming-Na Wen (Agents of SHIELD), Reggie Lee (Drag Me to Hell), and Jimmy O Yang (Silicon Valley) have scored guest roles on ABC's Fresh Off the Boat.
- Josh Segarra (Arrow), Michael-Leon Wooley (Ugly Americans), Katerina Tannenbaum (The Bold Type), and Tia Carrere (Wayne’s World) have been cast in AJ And The Queen, the new Netflix comedy from RuPaul (RuPaul’s Drag Race).
- Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger) will lead the cast of Apple's Defending Jacob as Andy Barber, an ADA who discovers his own son is a suspect in a murder he is investigating.
- Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) has joined the cast of Fox's Proven Innocent.
- Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live) cast as the lead in NBC's Saving Larry, about a widowed father taking care of his children.
- Michaela Watkins (Casual) has been cast in season 3 of TBS' Search Party.
- Jeremy Davies (LOST) to portray Arkham Asylum Doctor John Deegan in this years Arrow-verse cross-over.
- Alfred Enoch (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) to replace Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who) in Trust Me.
- Brec Bassinger (All Night) to play the titular lead of DC Universe's Stargirl.
- Alan Tudyk (Firefly) cast in the lead of SyFy's adaptation of Resident Alien.
- Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) is reprising his iconic horror role of Freedy Krueger in this year's Halloween episode of ABC's The Goldbergs.
- Jordan Peele (Get Out) will narrate his reboot of the classic science fiction anthology series The Twilight Zone.
- Nine Inch Nails Frontman Trent Reznor and his frequent collaborator Atticus Ross will compose the score for HBO's Watchmen series.
- AMC has cancelled Dietland.
- Renewals: ABC has renewed Modern Family for 1 more final season, HBO has also renewed The Deuce for a final season, and Ducktales has been renewed by Disney for a 3rd season.
