- Netflix and Gillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim) have announced a new horror anthology series, 10 Past Midnight, with del Toro set to write and direct several of the 10 episodes ordered.
- Greg Berlanti (Arrow) and Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) will be bringing a live action adaptation of Doom Patrol to DC's upcoming streaming service, DC Universe.
- FX has ordered Mr Inbetween, an Australian dramedy series base don the film of the same name, which will be created by and will star Australian Actor Scott Ryan, who made the original film.
- Josh Thomas (Please Like Me) will create and star in Everything's Gonna Be Okay for Freeform.
- RuPaul will star in a new Netflix series from Michael Patrick King (2 Broke Girls), titled AJ and the Queen.
- Hulu and Josh Schwartz (Chuck) are making a limited series adaptation of Looking For Alaska.
- The anime localization studio, and Publisher, Viz Media is producing their first original animated series at Netflix. Seis Manos tells the story of Mexican Martial-Artists who fight for justice in their small town.
- YouTube Red has ordered an adaptation of the 2016 film The Edge of Seventeen. The series will have a new cast, while the original Writer/Director, Kelly Fremon Craig, is on board as a Producer.
- Gina Torres has revealed that the name of her Chicago based Suits spin-off series will be Suits: Second City.
- Comic book Writers Jenny Klein (Jessica Jones), Sneha Koorse (Constantine), Clare Higgins (The Worst Witch), and Declan de Barra (The Originals) will be working with The Witcher Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich on the Netflix series.
- Fiona Dourif (Cult of Chucky) has landed a role in the TV series iteration of the popular horror franchise, The Purge.
- In demand Director Hiro Murai (Atlanta) has signed an overall development deal with FX.
- Corbin Bernsen (American Gods) and Annette O’Toole (Smallville) have signed on for season 2 of Marvel's The Punisher. The 2 will play Husband and Wife Anderson and Eliza Schultz, a wealthy and formidable couple of questionable morality.
- Jennifer Love Hewitt (Party of Five) has signed on to season 2 of Fox procedural 911. Hewitt will play the sister of a Firefighter who is starting her life over as a 911 Operator.
- Stefan Kapicic (Deadpool 2) is joining the cast of Better Call Saul in a yet to be announced recurring role.
- A large number of cancellations were handed out at the Summer Upfronts. These include: The Expanse at SyFy; Hap and Leonard at Sundance; Valor at The CW; Scorpion, Superior Donuts, and Kevin Can Wait at CBS; Kevin (Probably) Saves The World, Ten Days in the Valley, Quantico, Designated Survivor, Alex Inc., Inhumans, Deception, The Crossing, and The Mayor at ABC; Rise, Great News, the Brave, and Taken at NBC; The Exorcist, Lucifer, The Last Man on Earth, and The Mick at Fox. Also, Fox has stated that they have no plans for The X-Files after Gillian Anderson's departure from the series over pay inequality.
- Thankfully, it wasn't all doom and gloom at the Upfronts, as renewals include: Gotham for its final season, yet another follow up to Prison Break, Star, the return of Tim Allen's Last Man Standing, and Lethal Weapon, which will see Seann William Scott (American Pie) replacing the recently fired Clayne Crawford in a new leading role, at Fox; iZombie, Arrow, Black Lightning, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and The 100 at The CW; Criminal Minds, Instinct, Man With a Plan, and Life in Pieces at CBS; AP Bio, The Blacklist, Blindspot, Chicago PD, Good Girls, and Brooklyn Nine Nine, after being cancelled by Fox, at NBC; An abbreviated season of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, American Housewife, Splitting up Together, How to Get Away with Murder, Black-ish, Station 19, For the People, and Fresh off the Boat at ABC; The Detour at TBS; Outlander at Starz, for an additional 2 seasons; Rick and Morty at Adult Swim, with a 70 episode order; The Santa Clarita Diet and Lost in Space at Netflix; Lastly, the excelent Cobra Kai at Youtube Red.
- Major new series orders include: Rel, and The Passage at Fox; Manifest, Abby's, I Feel Bad, The Village, and The Enemy Within at NBC; The Kids are Alright and The Rookie at ABC; Reboots of Charmed and Roswell at The CW, as well as orders for In the Dark, All American, and another spin-off to The Vampire Diaries, Legacies; God Friended Me, The Code, The Red Line, and the Magnum PI reboot at CBS; Light as a Feather at Hulu; Lastly, The Perfectionists, a spin-off to Pretty Little Liars at Freeform.
- Meanwhile, Pilots that were passed on include: Tremors by SyFy, the Bad Boys spin-off LA's Finest by NBC, and the Supernatural spin-off Wayward Sisters by The CW.
