News

  • DC's streaming service was official announced with the title DC Universe.  The service will be home to a number of exclusive shows, including the high profile Titans, as well as Swamp Thing, a Harley Quinn series, and the hotly anticipated return of Young Justice.
  • Speaking of Swamp Thing, the series has been officially announced with James Wan (Aquaman) attached as a Producer, and Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) and Gary Dauberman (It) set to run the series.
  • Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) is developing a new series for Netflix about the recent #MeToo movement.  The anthology series will have each episode focus on a different case.  The series will be titled Consent
  • Dallas & Robo, a new animated series for YouTube Red, will feature the voices of John Cena (Blockers) and Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls).
  • FX has picked up a remake of Jemaine Clement (Legion) and Taika Waititi's (Thor Ragnarok) What We Do in the Shadows with a 10 episode series order.
  • Sony has picked up the rights to the Wattpad serial Death is my BFF to develop as a series.
  • Greg Berlanti (Arrow) has optioned the rights to YA novel The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue for Warner Bros TV.
  • Conan is once again adjusting its format, this time the series will make the shift to a half hour format in 2009.  TBS is also expanding the shows touring and online presence, with O'Brien's company Team Coco.
  • Anne Rice's son Christopher Rice has announced that the script for the pilot episode of The Vampire Chronicles is complete.  Christopher wrote the script for the series which is being developed by himself, his mother, and prestigious Showrunner Bryan Fuller (Hannibal), who is no longer involved in the project.
  • The next season of Channel Zero will be subtitled The Dream Door, and will feature Brandon Scott (Grey’s Anatomy), Maria Sten (Straight Outta Compton), Steven Robertson (Elementary), and Steven Weber (Wings) when it premieres later this year.
  • Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club) will take over the role of Princess Margaret in season 3 of The Crown, with Jason Watkins set (Being Human) to portray Prime Minister Harold Wilson. 
  • Ali Wong (Savages) has joined the cast of Netflix's animated series Tuca & Bertie.
  • Carrie Coon (The Leftovers) has been cast in season 2 of USA's The Sinner as Vera, a formidable community leader.  Natalie Paul (The Deuce) and Hannah Gross (Mindhunter) have also joined the cast.
  • Facebook has ordered Queen America, a 10 episode series starring Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago), for their streaming platform Facebook Watch.
  • Jonathan Majors (Hostile) will star in Jordan Peele (Get Out) and HBO’s Lovecraft Country.
  • Peaky Blinders Creator Steven Knight has said that he has plans up to the seventh season of the series.
  • The currently airing second season of Legion will have an additional, 11th, episode.
  • Netflix has released an alternate cut of the divisive 4th season of Arrested Development.
  • The upcoming Sabrina the Teenage Witch series at Netflix has been officially named Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
  • Salma Hayak (Ugly Betty) and Paul Feig's (Freaks & Geeks) currently in development comedy series is close to a pilot order at Amazon.
  • Hulu's horror anthology series Into the Dark has been announced as a monthly series of feature length episodes based on holidays.  The series kicks off in October with a Halloween themed episode.
  • Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) will be helming the pilot episode of Amazon's adaptation of the Garth Ennis (Preacher) comic The Boys.
  • Happy Endings' Creator David Caspe is reuniting with Happy Endings' star Adam Pally on a new comedy series for Youtube Red.
  • Renewals:  The Handmaid's Tale at Hulu, Westworld at HBO, Shameless at Showtime, and Final Space at TBS.
  • Cancellations:  Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to end after it upcoming 4th season, with the possibility of a movie continuation.  Transparent Creator/Showrunner Jill Soloway, has announced that the series will be ending after season 5, without series lead Jeffrey Tambor.
